Youngstown- Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday at Faith Community Church for Betty J. Pilgrim, age 80 of Youngstown who died Thursday evening at her home. Betty was born March 1, 1925 in Youngstown and was the daughter of Percy G. and Hilda S. (Bacher) Pilgrim. She had done clerical and secretarial work for General Fireproofing, General Electric, U. S. Steel and Community Action Center and had also been a teller for Dollar Savings and Trust Co.. Betty was a member of the former Pilgrim Collegiate Church which united with Faith Community Church where she was a faithful and active member. She was a 1943 graduate of Chaney High School where she was salutatorian and had attended Youngstown College and Youngstown State University excelling in math. She enjoyed traveling which included a Holy Land Tour and visits to several Indian Reservations. Betty was a loving kind person with a sweet smile who dedicated her life to her family and friends, always putting others first. She will be missed by her loved ones. Betty is survived by a sister June Pilgrim with whom she made her home, a nephew Glenn (Barbara) Patton, two nieces Mary Lynn (Robert) Durick and Susan Patton (Rick Tkach) and two great nephews, Christopher and Mark Patton. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Marjorie Lou Patton and a brother Paul Pilgrim. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel from 3-6 PM Sunday and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. The family requests that material contributions be made to Faith Community Church.
