Betty Jane Ritthaler Hopfer

Betty Jane Ritthaler Hopfer of Austintown passed away Saturday evening at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. She was 78. Betty was born September 13, 1926 in Valparaiso, IN a daughter of the late Harry and Chloe Beemer Burns. She was a self employed residential caretaker, and a member of the Austintown Community Church. Betty was very active in the church and taught Sunday School. She is survived by three sons: Walter Ritthaler Jr. of Weehawken, NJ, Harry Ritthaler of Mesa, AZ and Victor Ritthaler of Youngstown; five grandchildren: Amy Gilmour, Jason, Jennifer, Sarah, and Walter III Ritthaler; and two great grandchildren: Sophia and Noble Gilmour. Besides her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband Walter Ritthaler. Family and friends may call from 10 – 11 AM Thursday at the Austintown Community Church where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Material contributions may be made to the Austintown Community Church Sunday School in Betty’s name.
