Betty Louise Williams

Private graveside services were held for Betty Louise Williams, 82, of Diamond who passed away Monday at her home with her family by her side. Betty was born March 31, 1924 in Garmentown PA, the daughter of Rollie Charles and Evelyn Smith (Auld) Pittman. The family moved from PA to Ohio where Betty graduated from Columbiana High School in 1942. The Family then moved and settled in the Lake Milton / Diamond area. She retired in 1983 as a waitress with the American Legion Post 737. She was a member of Canfield Christian Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Legion. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, painting ceramics, crafts, traveling and her church choir. She leaves her husband of 23 years, Francis L. “Buck” Williams, whom she married December 11, 1982, one daughter; Deborah L. (Alan) Jones of Leavittsburg, six grandchildren; Matthew Hively, Emily Hively, Lisa Bender, Stacy Ague, Steven Bender, and Sara Bender, six great grandchildren, Four step-children; Jenifer Terry of Diamond, Janet (Ed) Robbins of KY, Jean Crawford of Geneva, Ed (Betty) Williams of AZ, ten step-grandchildren and ten step- great grandchildren. Betty also leaves two sisters; Dorothy Fenton of Canfield and Evelyn (Dale) Mountain of Lake Milton, Three brothers Rollie C. (Patricia) Pittman Jr. of Deerfield, John A. (Marjorie) Pittman of Diamond and Robert M. (Trudi) Pittman of Newton Falls There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. The family will receive friends at a memorial dinner for Betty on Sunday September 10, 2006 at 2 PM at the American Legion Post 737 of Lake Milton. Monetary donations can be made to the Church or to MVI Hospice of Youngstown 4891 Belmont Avenue Youngstown, Ohio 44505 in Betty’s name.
