Charles Howard Romig

Charles Howard Romig, 71, of Pinehurst, N.C., formerly of Warren died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at his home. Born on May 25, 1937 in Warren, he was the son of the late Edgar and Dorothy Romig. Mr. Romig was a Warren area resident for most of his life before moving to Pinehurst with his wife, Flora Jane Todd Romig in 200. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and attended Hiram College and Youngstown State University, where he earned his degree in Business Administration. Most of his working years were spent in the steel industry working in the finance area of the business. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a Past Exulted Ruler of Elks Lodge #295 in Warren. He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of several professional organizations. He was an avid golfer and won first place two years in a row at the Elks National Golf Tournament in Southern Pines, N.C. Mr. Romig was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years in 2007. He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Sollitto of Warren, and Janet Dato of Tampa, FL: as well as sister and brothers in law, Barbara and David Summers of Pinehurst, NC, Sam and Cathy Todd of Canton, Larry Todd of Pueblo, CO, Robert and Fran Todd of Warren, Jeffrey and Kelly Todd of Canfield, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24th, at 1:00PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel, where friends will be received from 12:00 to 1:00PM. Pastor Steve Ritter will officiate. Private Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Youngstown. The Warren Elks Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. Material contribution may be made to the Elks Lodge #295 in Warren.
