Charles "Chuck" Nutting

Cortland – Charles “Chuck” Nutting, 62, passed away Saturday April 20, 2024 with his wife by his side. 

Chuck was born on October 9, 1961 in Painesville, OH a son of Phyllis Collins and the late Robert F. Nutting.

He was a self-taught computer and website programmer that kept reading and learning as computer programing progressed through the years. He was an avid fan of the Ford Mustang. He not only owned Mustangs but also collected Mustang Hot Wheels and memorabilia. He also collected stamps and loved Sci-Fi movies. If he wasn’t working on the computer, reading, or watching his favorite movies, he could be found walking his side-kick Louis around the neighborhood visiting the neighborhood friends. 

Although Chuck had a stoic presence, he had a gentle soul and was known as the family rock. 

Chuck will be deeply missed by his devoted wife  and best friend Susan M. Nutting whom he married on December 1, 2005; his mother, Phyllis Collins, children, Charles “Junior” (Tasha) Nutting, Lauren (John) Sekerak, Dawn (Mark) Mueller, William (Janel) Sekerak, and Courtney (Curtis) Knight; grandchildren promoted him to Papaw, Maverick and Lincoln Nutting, Railiegh Torrez, Zac and Teigan Mueller, Nataleigh and Naomi Sekerak, and Ember Knight; brothers, Robert (Julie), Jim, and Bryan (Tara) Nutting; sister-in-law Julie (John) Murski; brother-in-law Daniel (Shauna) Stack; mother-in-law Catherine Stack; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his step-fathers, John and Larry; father-in-law Michael J. Stack Sr.; brother-in-law Michael J. Stack Jr.; and his trusted companion Winston. 

A private family service was held for Chuck and arrangements were entrusted with Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland. 

I lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to New Lease on Life Animal Rescue at 2773 E. Midlothian Blvd, Struthers, OH 44471.
