Charlotte Joscelyn Alexander

Charlotte Joscelyn (Washburn) Alexander passed away on December 19, 2008, at the age of 88. She was born September 19, 1920 the daughter of the late Leroy G. and Charlotte E. (Bliven) Washburn of Sioux City, Iowa. Charlotte was married in Sioux City, Iowa on March 11, 1944 to the late Ralph C. "Bud" Alexander, who passed away May 5, 1998. She followed Bud to several states where she worked either on or off base, while he served in the US Army Air Corps. She also lived with her in-laws while he continued his tour of duty overseas. In 1946, they were able to take up residence in Howland Township. She is survived by her three children, Ralph L. "Skip" Alexander and his wife Paula (Voorhees) of Moneta, Virginia; Glenn C. Alexander and his wife Vicky (Arthur) of Batavia, OH and Jacquelyn L. "Jacquie" Thomas and her husband John W. Thomas of Howland; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Lori J. Alexander and a brother, Leroy Washburn of Granite Falls, Minnesota. Charlotte was active in the Bolindale Elementary and Howland Schools Parent Teacher Association and the Howland High School Band Boosters, while her children were in school. She was a charter member of the Howland United Methodist Church, a fifty year member of the Morningside Rose Croix Chapter No. 502 Order of the Eastern Star in Sioux City and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem-Trinity Shrine No. 42 in Warren. Arrangements are being handled by Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren where a memorial service will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice, 510 Gypsy Lane, Suite 103, Youngstown, OH 44504
