Dennis McCarthy

Dennis Gene McCarthy, age 94, of Vienna passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024. He was born on January 21, 1930, in Coitsville, OH to the late John and Lillian Elliott McCarthy.

He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend who cared for his family. He was a graduate of Vienna High School after graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army serving his country in the Korean War. After returning from his deployment, he began working for Republic Steel in the employment office until his retirement. He was always known for his artistic and creative side. He had a love and talent for playing piano. He enjoyed gardening, baking bread, and canning.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert, John, and Alan McCarthy.

He is survived by his siblings, Claire Longmore, Ronald (Judy) McCarthy, Harold McCarthy, Clifford McCarthy, Daniel (Barbara) McCarthy, Lillian Capo, and Debra (Richard) Sheridian, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Lane Funeral Home, Madasz Chapel 6923 Warren-Sharon Rd. Brookfield, OH 44403. Interment will be held at Dugan Cemetery.
