A memorial service will be held 7 PM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Donald Francis Parker, 83, of Youngstown who passed away Thursday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center main campus. Donald was born August 5, 1924 in Sistersville, W.VA the son of John and Clara (Henning) Parker and came to the area as a child. He worked as an overhead crane operator with Wean United for 30 years until his retirement in the 80's and then was a security guard at several area businesses until 2003.Donald was a WWII veteran of the army serving in Europe and was part of the Battle of the Bulge and received many accommodations. Donald was also an avid Indian's and Brown's fan. His wife the former Betty J. Neal, whom he married March 31, 1944, passed away December 13, 2004. Donald leaves three children; Donald W. (Elke) Parker of Anniston, AL, Ronald (Keren) Parker of Boardman, and Wendy (Brian) Rosian of Willard, two sisters; Margaret Stabi of Austintown, and Helen Lewis of Youngstown, six grandchildren; Ronald Parker Jr., Neal Parker, Brian Parker, Danny Ruffner, Shannon Parker, and Christy McDill, as well as seven great grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, Donald is preceded in death by one brother; Max and three sisters; Betty, Mary and Katie. Family and friends may call from 6 PM until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
