Niles- Edna Elizabeth Paden passed from this earthly life into the loving arms of Jesus on Jan 25, 2009. She was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church in Niles. She touched many lives with her Christian walk, always lifting those in need up in prayer. Edna was born Jan. 4, 1916 in Mineral Ridge and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Rachel (Schisler) Evans. She was a proud graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, class of 1934 keeping up with all the current events at the school and attended all the Alumni banquets. She was a life-long resident of Trumbull County but did love to travel, seeing much of the country over the years but her favorite was her trip to Israel. She married James A. Paden February 11, 1939. Edna worked for the Weathersfield School cafeteria and retired in 1982 from General Motors Cafeteria (Profit Food). She was greatly loved and leaves her family and those who knew her to cherish her memory. Her love of God was exemplified through her life. She laid up her treasurers in heaven; not on earth. Edna is survived by four daughters, Carol Ann Gordon of Buford, GA, Elinor Carmouche of Montgomery, LA, Juanita (Steve) Smith of Warrior, AL, Linda (Jim) Callihan of N. Kingsville, OH and one son Michael (Debbie) Paden of Warren. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a brother Leroy (Gerry) Evans of Ponta Verda, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Edward (Maria) Evans, sisters Julia (Glen) Mayfield, Mildred (Joe) Verben and a son-in-law Clyde Carmouche. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday at the First Baptist Church in Niles where Pastor Ben Reed will be officiating. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home- Mineral Ridge Chapel from 5-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church.
