Ellman M. ''Ellie'' Goodman

There will be funeral services 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Ellman M. Goodman of Canfield who passed away at Northside Medical Center early Saturday morning. Ellie, as she was known, was born November 4, 1911 in Canfield a daughter of Eli O. and Nettie (Kirkpatrick) Goodman. She was currently working for the Canfield School System selling milk in the cafeteria for the past 26 years, and had previously worked for General Fireproofing from 1942 – 1970. She also worked at the Tanner Insurance Agency from 1971 to 1978. She graduated from Canfield High School in 1930, and from Youngstown College in 1932. She was an avid fan of the Indianapolis 500, attending 43 consecutive races, and enjoyed traveling. Some of her accomplishments include climbing the Swiss Alps, and going white water rafting while in her 80’s. She was a charter member in the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation, and very interested in the Titanic. Ellie will be sadly missed by many dear friends.
