COLUMBIANA-There will be a funeral service held at 10:30AM Monday, April 21, 2008 in the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Evelyn J. Ensley, 79, who passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 7:08 AM in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman Campus. Evelyn was born February 21, 1929 in East Palestine, OH the daughter of the late Grover and Garnet (Bush) Guy. Evelyn was a 1950 graduate of East Palestine High School and was retired from Busy Beaver Lumber Co. Evelyn, who was also know as "Tuffy" by her friends, enjoyed bowling and belonged to the Diver Steel Ladies Tuesday Morning and Alley Cats Thursday Morning Leagues both at Amron Lanes in Canfield; she was a talented oil painter having painted many pictures for her family; she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends; was an avid sports fan including the Cleveland Indians; and was a wonderful baker. Evelyn is survived by three sons Raymond (Susan) of Austintown, Jerry (Laura) of Boardman, and Russell (Stephanie) of Canfield; six grandchildren Greg (Katie) Ensley, Carrie (Steve) Marks, Eric (Nancy) Ensley, Amy, Cory, and Jessica Ensley; and a great grandson Jackson Ensley. Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death on December 27, 2005 by her husband Raymond C. Ensley, whom she married March 1952; four brothers and two sisters. Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 20, 2008 from 2 until 4 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
