Memorial services will be 11 AM Saturday April 30, 2011 at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Frank Melvin McPhee who passed away March 31, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic. Frank was born March 19, 1931 Youngstown the son of the late Chester Herman and Nina Mabel (Eleazer) McPhee. A graduate of Chaney High School class of 1949, Frank played football, basketball and golf. He graduated from Princeton in 1953. Frank's achievements include All City and All County football, All American and numerous athletic and personal achievement awards. Frank proudly served as a Lieutenant in the Marines. He played professional football for the Chicago Cardinals. After a long and successful career with Prudential Insurance in Houston, Frank retired to his home Youngstown. He was a member of the Lockwood Methodist Church. His wife, the former Jean Coughlin, whom he married in 1953, passed away April 6, 2004. Frank will be sadly missed by his two daughters: Sherry (Thomas) Cooper of Houston, TX and Pam McPhee of Littleton, CO; one brother: Chester McPhee of Newington, CT; two grandchildren: Beth Anne Cooper and Charles T. Cooper; and seven nieces and nephews: Scott Mullarkey, Gina Mullarkey, Jeff McPhee, Doug McPhee, Cindy Jeremiah, Linda Elam and Paul Coughlin Jr. Besides his parents and wife, Frank is preceded in death by a sister Jenna Mullarkey and a nephew Craig Mullarkey. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Angels for Animals, 4750 West South Range Rd., Canfield, OH 44406 or a charity of the donor's choice. Friends may call from 10 AM until 11 AM Saturday April 30, 2011 at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
