Frederick William Rhinehart, 78, of Howland, passed away Thursday April 3, 2008 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital at 5PM. Fred was born the son of the late Ralph O. and Cora Belle (Barker) Rhinehart in Cuyahoga Falls on January 31, 1930. A lifetime area resident, Fred graduated Ravenna Twp High School in 1950. After graduation Fred joined the Army and served our country during the Korean Conflict. After he got out the service Fred worked for Packard Electric where he retired as a foreman in 1987 after 32 years of service. Fred attended the Windham United Methodist Church; he enjoyed woodworking, working in the yard, going to casinos, traveling, was an avid Browns and Indians fan and also loved to be outdoors. He also was a member of VFW Post 278. Most of all, to all that knew Fred he will be remembered as a loving family man. Fred married the former Gladys Carolus on July 3, 1954, whom he leaves at home. Together they shared 53 years of marriage. Fred is also survived by his two daughters; Susan Salman, Cecilia Crown both of Howland; sisters Helen Kunar, Elizabeth Hayes, Arlene Smith, a brother Ralph (Margaret) Rhinehart all of Ravenna and a brother Richard (Abby) Rhinehart of Brady Lake; four grandchildren Jamie Salman, Michelle (Tom) Lewis, Jimmy (Christine) Salman, Shawn (Dacia) Crown; 11 great grandchildren Coty, Tyler, Courtney, Corey, Merandia, Bailey, Braelynn, Caitlynn, Gracie, Kyle, and Justin. Preceding him in death was his beloved grandson Troy Rhinehart, two sisters Edna Hayes and Barbra Hayes, and one brother Irwin Rhinehart. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 5-8PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren. On Monday Rev. Ruth Roth will conduct a service at the funeral home at 11AM. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers the material contributions be made to the donors' favorite charity.
