Gary A. Sickle, 75 Berlin Center: There will be a memorial service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 4626 Pricetown Rd., Berlin Center for Gary Allen Sickle who passed away peacefully February 9, 2014. Gary was born July 17, 1938 in Salem, a son of the late Harry W. and Verna Weingart Sickle and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Jackson-Milton High School in 1956. On October 14, 1960 he married the love of his life, Shirley A. Miller. They have four children, Denise Sickle and Richard Sickle both of Berlin Center, Lori Cole (Chad) of Leander, Texas and Kelly Sickle (William Hawksley) of Cedar Park, Texas. Gary leaves a grandson, Jackson Andrew Cole who was "Pampas" pride and joy; a beautiful granddaughter, Joey Courtney and four future grandchildren, Jennifer, Marion, William and Anthony. He also leaves a sister, Susan Thomas of Arizona and a brother, Dave Sickle of North Carolina. Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Sickle. Gary worked at Youngstown Welding and Engineering as a foreman for many years. He was a carpenter all his life. In his retirement he enjoyed driving cars for USA Meridian and it was there that he received his nickname "Mr. Atlas". Gary enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 65 N. Broad Street, Canfield Chapel.
