Masury Gary J. Jara, 82, passed away Sunday morning, January 24, 2016 at O'Brien Memorial Health Care in Masury, OH. Gary was born on May 30, 1933 in Sharon, PA, a son of the late Walter and Genevieve (Hench) Jara. He was a 1951 graduate of Mercer High School and a long time resident of Brookfield and Vienna, OH. Shortly after high school, he married his wife, Caroline (Godfrey) Jara on March 4, 1954 and started their family together. He found employment at Westinghouse for over 30 years until 1979. He delivered for the Wall Street Journal until 1988 and then worked for the Brookfield Township School system as a bus driver until he retired in 1999. He was a life-long member of the Hubbard Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and remained active in the Bible education work until his death. He was a car buff and loved Pontiacs. Gary will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Caroline Jara, whom he shared 61 years of marriage with; his children, Laurie (Dale) Smith, Muriel (Ron) Goodemote, Lisa Jara Judson, and Bethany (Todd) Brown; nine grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Christopher, Ciara, Rheese, Cheyenne, Dakhota, Dominic, and McKenna; and eight great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Garth W. Jara. A memorial service will be held for Gary on Sunday January 31, 2016 at 3:30PM at the Hubbard Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at church.
