George F. Wallace, 76, of Warren passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Mahoning Valley Hospital at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. George was born November 28, 1930 in Warren, son of the late Edwin and Cecelia Isabella Wallace who came to America from Durham, England. A lifetime area resident, George was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He was a veteran of the United State Army serving during the Korean War. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, George returned to Warren and began work at the Warren Baking Co. George owned a number of establishments, most recently the Lantern Bar. In addition, George and his wife Ora owned and managed many real estate properties in Warren and Niles. Throughout his life, George enjoyed fishing, playing cards, music, and sports. He was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union club for several years. Most of all, George enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his dog Shunuk. George is survived by his wife Ora V. (Judy) Wallace, whom he married on February 15, 1964, three daughters Tana (Bob) Catron of Howland, Debbie (Dan) Wojnarski of Niles, Kim (Ted) Kowalczyk of Howland, and two sons, Earl Rodney Maines of Warren, and Tom (Amber) Wallace, of Howland. George is also survived by seven grandchildren: Keith, Thomas, Jennifer and Christopher Wojnarski, Justina Maines, Bridger Kowalczyk, Drew Guido and Logan Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marian Mahdesian, and brothers, John, William and Robert Wallace. Rev. Gerald Davison will conduct a funeral service Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 11AM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8PM at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Entombment will take place at the Pineview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
