North Jackson- Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Grace McDougal who died Tuesday morning. Grace was born December 7, 1914 in North Jackson the daughter of Wade and Maude (Burkey) Urich and was a lifelong area resident. Grace married Thomas H. McDougal May 29, 1931 they were married 67 years until his death in 1998. After they were married she moved less than a quarter mile down the road and has lived on Bailey Rd all 95 years. During her younger days she had a butter and egg route in Warren and North Jackson, she also worked at the Lordstown Depot during WWII nailing boxes together to ship ammunition to the troops overseas. After the war she had various jobs, running a press making pullies for appliances, worked as a cook at Paul’s Truck Stop and retired from North Jackson Islay’s where she had been a cook for over 18 years. She was a very good cook and makes the best potato salad around. Her family always said no one can beat Grandma Grace’s potato salad. Grace is survived by her children; Clara Mae (Bill) Sivert of Silver Springs, FL., Thomas (Ruth) McDougal of Cropwell, AL. and Wayne (Lucille) McDougal of North Jackson. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, sisters; Lois McDougal, Thelma Carlson and Florence McDougal. Family and friends may call from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Shriner’s Hospital.
