Howard C. Rieck

Howard C. Rieck, 83, passed away Tuesday at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Howard was born July 9, 1923 in Youngstown the son of Ludwig and Irene (Shafer) Rieck and was a life long area resident. He was a graduate of South High School class of 1941 and served in the U.S. Navy during both WWII and the Korean War. He was the owner and photographer for Rieck’s Studio from 1947 until his retirement in 1981. Howard leaves his wife the former Opal Smith whom he married July 4, 1948, one son; Kim Rieck of Columbus, and two granddaughters; Rebecca and Leslie Rieck both of Columbus. Besides his parents, Howard is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Marianne Rieck. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 PM tonight at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests material tributes take the form of donations to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Youngstown Chapter. 3736 Boardman-Canfield Road P.O.
