Jami Elizabeth Mazei

Jami Elizabeth Mazei, 31, of Austintown, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 28^th at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, surrounded by her friends and family. 

She was born in Youngstown to Gary and Brenda (Dina) Mazei on June 3, 1992 and was a 2010 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. Jami went on to attend YSU then Maryville University in order to obtain her Masters in Nursing Science. She was a pediatric nurse practitioner and was currently employed as an RN for Akron Children's Hospital. 

Jami had many interests and things that brought her joy, such as everything Dolly Parton, Sunday Fundays in the pool, being with her friends, but she held a very special place in her heart for Disney. Her love started on her first trip at 3 years old that spanned to her last trip at 31, with at least 2 dozen trips in between, it was her happiest place on earth.  

Jami leaves behind to carry on her memory, her parents, her sisters; Jennifer (Jason) Murdock and Jessica (Mark Nitsky) Mazei; her uncle and aunt, Joe and Rosalynda Dina, her godmother, Tina Ballmer; her special friends who were more like sisters, Miranda Ballmer, Miriah Tuchek, and Lori Protain; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially her special girls, Lilliana, Elliana, and Gracie Dina; and her special buddy, Theodore.  

Jami was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; Joseph and Elaine Dina, and Albert and Irene Mazei; and her dogs, Harlee and Brody. 

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 7th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider making a monetary contribution to a local mental health facility or Akron Children’s Hospital in Jami’s name.

Jami is now at peace.
