Jean L. Caldwell

Champion – Jean L. Caldwell, 91, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Shephard of the Valley in Howland, surrounded by her family. 

Jean was born on November 20, 1932, in Altoona, Pa, a daughter of the late George and Elsie Jane Viola. 

She moved to Ohio in 1952. She began working at Ohio Lamp and Kay Dee Manufacturing until she retired in 1992. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Niles for 39 years; where she was a Deacon for 10 years, the Lydia Circle, and a regular at the Scope Center. She enjoyed reading, baking, playing cards, going to family cookouts, and watching the Cleveland Guardians. 

Jean will be deeply missed by her loving children, Paul (Joellen) Chaney, Brian Chaney, Jean (Lance) Elmore, Jill (Calvin) Haycock, and Jay (Tami) Caldwell; grandchildren, Brooke (Alex) Recker, MaryJo Novotny, Christina (Robert) Cellars, Bill (Tami) Novotny, Nathan (Brittany) Ealey, Brett Caldwell and Alex Caldwell; and eight great-grandchildren. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold H. Caldwell, whom she married on June 22, 1985 and who passed away on June 13, 2008; brothers, George (Nancy) Viola and Richard (Irene) Viola; and sisters, Rosemary (Don) Donahue, Pat Apostolakis, and Louise (Edward)Lunghofer. 

Family and friends may visit from 10-11:00AM on Friday May 17, 2024 at Lane Family Funeral Homes Roberts Clark Chapel, located at 180 Garfield Dr. NE in Warren, with funeral services following at 11:00AM

Burial will take place at Niles City Cemetery.
