Jesse Lee Reed Sr., 69 of Fowler Township passed away Wednesday evening at the Cleveland Veteran Medical Center in Cleveland. Born in Plymouth, West Virginia on May 2, 1941, Jesse is the son of the late Jesse M. and Ruth (Cook) Reed. Jesse is a United States Veteran of the Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War. Jesse was honorably discharged from active service on December 4, 1962. Jesse moved from Cincinnati to the area in 1974 where he worked as a truck operator for BJ Services, he retired after 28 years of service. Jesse is a member of the Cortland Moose Lodge. He enjoyed watching football and NASCAR. He enjoyed camping and sitting around camp fires and spending time with his family. He is survived by his two children; Rhoda A. (Bruce) Taylor of Fowler and Jesse Lee (Tabitha) Reed Jr. of Niles; a brother William Reed of Elanor, West Virginia; a sister Sure Fore of Hometown, West Virginia; and four grandchildren, Brent, Brandon, Craig, and Desiree. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Russell Reed. Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday November 6, 2010 at Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Bazetta Township where military honors will be observed.
