Josephine Root DiBell, age 107 of Warren, Ohio, formerly of Cortland, Ohio, died on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Gillette's Nursing Home at 10:20 PM. Josephine was born on September 24, 1905 in Farmdale, the daughter of the late Asahel Badeau and Inez Abigail Jewell Root. Mrs. DiBell worked for Pryce's Champion Drug Co. for 24 years and she was also a buyer for J. C. Penney, retiring in 1979. Her hobbies included reading and reading the Bible , crocheting and making rag rugs. Survivors include her children, Idell Elser of New York, Ruth E. Bingham of Roswell, New Mexico, and Thomas A. Mullen of Howland; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Carpenter-Aaron; two sisters, Helen Gresham and Ruth Criswell; twin granddaughters and a great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, a Lane Family Funeral Home, where Pastor David Vencel will celebrate Josephine's life. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Gustavus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be given to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Road SW, Warren, Ohio 44481.
