A memorial service celebrating the life of Judith Ann Mellott will be held 3 PM Saturday May 14th, at Ohltown United Methodist Church. Judy passed away Saturday April 30th at Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 75. She was born May 31, 1940 in Youngstown the daughter of the late Raymond C. Jr. and Dorothy (Poorman) Lanterman. Judy was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School class of 1958 and an active member of Ohltown United Methodist Church. She was a bowler and a member of the Key Club, Card Clubs and the Saxton Club. Judy was also involved in 4-H and had been a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts. Judy worked for the Niles Times in the Delivery Division for 3 years and had also worked as a cafeteria worker and a bus aid for the Austintown school system for 30 years. She leaves her husband of 57 years, Lester V. Mellott, whom she married June 21, 1958, two children, David Mellott and Andrea Leonard, six grandchildren, Jennifer Gossett, Brian Mellott, Austin Leonard, Collin Leonard, Megan Leonard and Morgan Leonard, two great grandchildren, Gionna and Keara as well as one sister Norma Jarrett. Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by one daughter Cheryl Mellott and one sister Bonnie Hevener. Friends may call from 1 PM until the time of services at 3 PM, Saturday May 14, at the Ohltown United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Ohltown United Methodist Church in Judy's name.
