Kathleen E. Bowman

Kathleen E. Bowman, 76 of , Austintown, passed away on July 17, 2024 at Austin Woods. Bowman was born October 29, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of Charles and Marie (Baker) Brown. She was a 1964 graduate of Austintown Fitch and worked for GM 15 years before retiring. She was the State of Ohio Senior Olympic Gold Medal winner in 2009 and 2018, as well as the National Senior Olympic Gold Medalwinner in 2009 and set a record for barebow compound.

Kathleen enjoyed many things, such as collecting turquoise jewelry, archery, hunting, leatherworking, reading and traveling, but especially enjoyed her horse and dogs. 

She is survived by her daughter, Shawne (Charles) Wilfong; two sons, Robert (Marijane) Bowman and Charles Bowman; three grandsons, Charles Wilfong, Jr., Cory (Shelley) Wilfong, Thomas Bowman; four granddaughters, Andrea Wilfong, Kaylin Bowman, Marissa Bowman, Cassidy Bowman; and 1 greate-grandchild, Liam Wilfong.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Carole M. Brown; two brothers, Thomas M. Brown and 2nd Lt Charles W. Brown; a granddaughter, Lauren N. Bowman; and her parents Marie C. Brown and Charles W. Brown Sr.

Friends and family may call from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday July 25th at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel with a service to immediately follow at 7pm.
