Youngstown- Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Leroy D. McCluggage, age 86 of Youngstown who died Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Leroy was born Feb. 6, 1923 in Patmos, Ohio and was the son of the late Frank and Clara (Campf) McCluggage. He retired from Crane Company (Deming Pump) where he had been an electrician. He was a decorated WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and belonged to the Aircraft Owners and Pilot Assoc. Leroy was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, V.F.W. and the American Legion Post in Lake Milton. He loved airplanes, motorcycles and most of all his family. He would always lend a helping hand and will be missed by everyone who knew him. His wife, the former Esther Carlson whom he married Jan. 20, 1944 died Nov. 10, 1990. He is survived by three children Marilyn (Larry) Cone of Youngstown, Ken (Joan) McCluggage of Stonecreek, OH, and Janet (Don) Tanner of Summerville, GA, Leroy also leaves his siblings Robert Dean (Alice) McCluggage, Lee (Sandy) McCluggage and Millie (Bob) Demes and 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Clyod McCluggage and two sisters Ruby and Mary June. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30-11 AM Thursday prior to the services. The family requests that material contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society, American Heart Assoc. or V.F.W.
