Lucy Kean Gray Carson Athya, 91, died Thursday, November 28, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was born on October 6, 1922 in Cortland, Ohio to the late Charles Kean and the late Ruth Wanamaker. Lucy was a member of the Ladies Auxillary VFW 1090, American Guild of Music, International Music Association and the Cortland Moose. She attended Cortland Christian Church and a non-denominational church in Florida. Lucy was the owner of the Grays Music Store in Warren and Cortland for 27 years. Lucy enjoyed traveling and spending the winter months with her husband, James Athya in Florida until his passing on May 24, 2011. She is survived by her son, James (Karen) Gray; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and daughter in law, Jeanine Gray. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Athya whom she married on December 30, 1978; son, Jerry Gray; daughter, Joan Stone; granddaughter, Brenda Long; and second husband, Robert Carson Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland. In lieu of flowers, material contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrot Rd, Poland, Ohio 44514.
