Austintown- Funeral services will be held 11 AM Sat. at the Lane Funeral Home- Austintown Chapel for Mary Alice Mansell age 76 of Briarfield Manor formerly of Austintown area who died Sunday afternoon at Briarfield Manor. Mary was born Nov. 3, 1927 in Youngstown and was the daughter of William Earl and Alice (Brooks) Hess. She had worked in the school cafeteria in Arizona and later had been a cook at Isaly’s in Austintown and Boardman retiring in 1970’s. She was a member of Lordstown Christian Church, enjoyed golfing, gardening and bowling, had been a Campfire Girl Leader, had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross and had been active with the P.T.A. in Arizona Her husband Ellis L. Mansell whom she married June 1, 1946 died April 2, 1993. She leaves twin daughters Janice A. (Kenneth) Fugitt of Warren and Joyce E. (Grey) Glover of Virginia Beach, VA, a son Gary L. (Marilyn) Mansell of Delaware, OH, a sister Ethyl Cowdery of DeBary, FL, three brothers Albert Hess of Arizona, Vernon Hess of Calif., Jerald Hess of Columbiana, five grandchildren Roger Beck, Meredith Glover, Grey Glover, Jr., Brian Glover, Sara Mansell and two great grandchildren David and Shelby. She was preceded in death by two sisters Leta Hood and June Jones, a brother Raymond Hess, her parents and her husband. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 PM Friday and 1 hour prior to services on Sat. Family requests that material contributions be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
