CANFIELD-Mary Bucurel, 84, of Gibson Road in Canfield, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 26, 2006, in her home as a result of a house fire. Mary was born March 26, 1922 in Youngstown and was the only daughter of the late Serban and Paraschiva (Triniu) Poplacian. Mary graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education and was a school teacher for 10 years with the Southeast School District. Mary was a member of Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Youngstown and was a member of its Senior Citizens Group. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was married on April 22, 1945 in Youngstown to Nicholas “Nick” Bucurel and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2006. Mary is survived by four children Chris S. Bucurel at home; Richard N. Bucurel of Sheboygan, WI; David P. (Ruth) Bucurel of Mentor; and Cheryl (Si) Past of Dayton; and five grandchildren David R. Bucurel, Elizabeth M. Remy, Nicholas J. (Andrea) Bucurel, Ryan D. Bucurel, and Craig C. Bucurel. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a brother Nick Poplacian. Family and friends may gather in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel on Monday, October 30, 2006 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 11AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church, 626 Wick Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44502
