Nellie M. Zaucha, 83, of Howland died at 7:25 PM Saturday March 29, 2008 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a short illness. She was born April 26, 1924 in Warren the daughter of Michael and Emily (Bobroski) Balciar. A lifetime area resident, Nellie was a 1942 graduate of Howland High School. She was formerly employed as a secretary at Packard Electric, the Atlas Powder Co. and for a period of 25 years was secretary to six Howland School Superintendants retiring in 1983. She was an active member of the Bolindale Church of the Nazarene for many years where she served in many capacities including the Choir, teaching Sunday school, Treasurer of the building program, and directing vacation Bible school. She received the Bolindale church's distinguished service award. Currently, Nellie is an active member of the Warren First Church of the Nazarene where she belongs to the Prime Time retirees group. She also volunteered at Hillside Hospital, the American Cancer Society and was a trained literacy tutor. She was a member of the Howland School Retirees Association. Surviving is her beloved husband of 61 years Stanley J. Zaucha Sr. whom she married June 7, 1946, 2 sons Stanley J. (Bonnie) Zaucha Jr. of Cadillac, MI, Dr. Kenneth M. Zaucha Ph.D. of Los Angeles, CA, 2 grandchildren Rev. Chad (Christy) Zaucha of Ojai, CA, Wendy (Benjamin) Stuebs of Grand Rapids, MI, and 2 great grandchildren Joshua and Annamarie Zaucha. She also leaves 2 sisters Olga Rush of Temple City, CA, Ethel (Clarence) Sweitzer of Kerrville, TX, a brother Daniel Balciar of Warren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters; Emily Getz, Bess Gallagher, Amelia Frankie, Margaret Smith, and Susanna Athey. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday April 1, 2008 at the Warren First Church of the Nazarene where friends will be received for 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Lynn Nichols will officiate. Interment will be in Pineview memorial Park. Roberts-Clark Chapel handled the arrangements. The family suggests material contributions be made to the Warren First Church of the Nazarene 4179 Parkman Rd. NW Warren, OH 44481.
