Norman N. Runyan

Norman N. Runyan, "Norm", age 83 of Cortland, Ohio, died on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren. He was born on June 6, 1932 in Jefferson, Ohio, a son of the late William N. and Aleita P. Gray Runyan. Norm was a 1950 graduate of New Lyme Deming High School in Ashtabula County. He was employed in the banking industry, having retired from National City Bank in Niles. He attended First United Methodist Church of Warren. Survivors include his wife, the former Carole Smith, whom he married on March 21, 1954; his children Jeanne (Doyle) Henneman of Stuart, FL, Becky (Stan) Lancey of Cortland, Russell (Rhodi) Runyan of Warren, and Ed (Andrea) Runyan of Warren; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One brother, Calvin (Jody) Runyan of Jefferson, Ohio also survives. Other than his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his siblings, William Runyan, Wilma Herndon, and Janice Dickson. Funeral services will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 10, 2015 where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Pastor Rick Oaks and Rev. Yesudas Devadan will celebrate Norman's life. Mr. Runyan will be laid to rest in the Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson, Ohio.
