Patricia L. Palko

December 4, 1946 — June 23, 2024

Austintown

Mrs. Patricia L. Palko, 77, of Austintown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Sunday afternoon, June 23rd, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

"Patti" or "Mama P" as she was affectionately known was born December 4, 1946 in Youngstown, a daughter of William and Kay (Mortimer) Kalenits.

Patti was a 1964 graduate of Chaney High School and worked as a beautician for Special Touch Salon in Poland for 25 years. After she retired she worked with her husband in their family business, Palko's Mill Creek Service.

She married Roger J. Palko on July 12, 1966. They shared almost 58 years of marriage and many happy memories together. He survives her.

Patti loved planting flowers and was an avid gardener. She was an excellent cook, known for her stuffed cabbage and chicken paprikash, and she loved her dogs, especially her dog Bailey and her grand pups, Charlie and Rocco Luigi.

Besides her husband, Patti is survived by her two daughters; Kimberly A. (Anthony) Meraglio, of Austintown and Pamela A. (Drew) Revella, of Girard. She also leaves behind a sister, Virginia (Stan) Matovich, of Alabama; and her two dearest lifelong friends, Patty Kalosky and Joann Chakos.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Patti was a very proud and private woman who gave selflessly and never wanted to burden others with her struggles, even at the very end of her journey. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of St. Elizabeth's 6 West Extension (IMC) for making Mom comfortable and giving her everything she needed. Also a special thanks to the many doctors who made her life the best it could be over the past several years; Dr. Scott Agnew, Dr. Amy Awaida, Dr. Urwa Barakat, Dr. Scott Tofil, and Dr. Ghazaleh Bigdeli; and the many friends and neighbors for all of their love, kindness, and support.

In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral services or calling hours.

Arrangements for Mrs. Palko are being provided by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown.
