Peggy Marie Burnette

Peggy M. Burnette, age 60 died at her home on April 5, 2016, following a brief illness. Peggy was born on February 15, 1956 in California, a daughter of Melvin Mankins and the late Maddie Weeks. Peggy was a homemaker and loved to cook and bake for all her family and friends. She would spend countless hours watching birds and other wildlife. Peggy's nieces and nephew would come up and spend every summer with her, this meant the world to her. She leaves behind her father Melvin Mankins of Point Marion, PA., siblings; Charles (Cherly Roper) Mankins of Point Marion, PA., Mike Mankins of Bluffton, SC, Jerry Mankins of San Antonio, TX., Michelle (Steve Flowers) Chipps, of Morgantown WV., Kim Greathouse of Point Marion, PA., and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband the love of her life, her husband Lloyd Burnette; whom she married on March 30, 1986. Lloyd died on February 8, 2016, and they were married for 30 wonderful years. She was also preceded in death by her mother Maddie Marie Weeks and a brother David Johnstone. Friends and family may gather Saturday April 9, 2016 form 12:00p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St. Cortland, OH., where services will be held at 2:00 p. m.
