There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 24th at Lane Family Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown Chapel celebrating the life of Randall H. Kerr, 78 who passed away Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boardman Campus. Randall was born May 14, 1937 in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, a son of the late Dick and Sarah Hackney Kerr and came to this area in 1972. Randall graduated from Elkhorn City High School where he had played basketball. He worked for General Motors, Fisher Body Stamping Plant for 37 years .He was a member of Local Union #714 and Temple Masonic Lodge #28 F. & A.M., Painsville. Randall attended the former Lynkirk Church of Christ and the Greenford Christian Church and was a member of the Salisbury Sportsman's Club. Randall loved sports and was a die hard University of Kentucky basketball fan. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved fishing with friends at Mosquito Lake and Lake Erie where he shared whatever he caught with friends. He was a very loving and generous man with a quiet nature, but always willing to help someone. Randall was a genuine person and did things his way, "What you see is what you get." He leaves his wife, the former Linda Potter whom he married July 2, 1956; his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Joe Ducay of Austintown; two granddaughters, Sarah (Kyle) Muir, Rachel (Edgar) Mosco; one sister, Janice Picklesimer of Greenwood, Indiana and one brother, Benny Kerr of Bristol, Virginia. Besides his parents, Randall was preceded in death by two brothers, James, "Bub" Kerr, Ravine Kerr and a sister, Ample Kerr. Friends may call on Saturday from noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
