Richard Lee Aurand

Richard L. Aurand, 73 of Warren, OH passed away at his home, with his family by his side, Saturday morning, July 4, 2015. Richard was born on January 24, 1942, in Sewickley, PA the son of the late Charles and Jennie Carlson Aurand. Richard grew up in DuBois, PA and graduated from DuBois High School in 1959. He received his bachelors in business from Penn State University in 1963.Richard married the love of his life Patricia Burkett on January 25, 1963.The couple moved to the Youngstown region in 1967 for work. Richard worked at General Motors in the payroll department for nearly 20 years. He then worked for Allstate Insurance Company as an insurance salesman's, retiring after 25 years in 2002. He belonged to the Warren Rotary Club; he was an avid Penn State football fan, a member of Vienna Fish and Game Club, and a member of Howland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed reading, and spending time with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He will be sadly missed by his wife Patricia, his 5 children; Scott (Patti) Aurand, from Troy MI, Steven (Sue) Aurand, from Fairport NY, Rodney Aurand, from Warren, OH, Ryan (Kimberley) Aurand, from Berea, OH, Susan (Paul) Thomas, from Hilliard, OH, 10 grandchildren; Andrew, Victoria, Christian Aurand, Ashley, Daniel Aurand, Brenna, Hope Aurand, Kevin, Calli, and Jacob Thomas, a sister Ruth (Benjamin) Coppolo, from Weedville PA., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 8, 2015 at 11a.m at Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Rd. N.E. Warren, OH 44484, with Pastor Tom Badanjek officiating. Friends and family may call Tuesday July 7, 2015 from 6p.m to 8p.m and Wednesday from 10a.m. to 11a.m. at the church. Memorial contribution can be made in Richard's name to Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson RD N.E. Warren, OH 44484.
