Memorial Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 10th at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel for Richard C. Lutz, 77 of Austintown who died Tuesday morning, June 4th. Richard was born August 18, 1946 in Youngstown, a son of the late Ralph and Nancy (Inglis) Lutz . He proudly served his country, with a career spanning 29 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as Chief Master Sergeant.
A true angler at heart, Rich found joy not only in the thrill of the catch, but also in the time spent with family throughout the process. His fishing tales were legendary, each one spun with the finesse of a master storyteller, embellished with laughter and exaggeration each time he told them. He brought that love of fishing to so many, bringing generations of a family together, creating memories that last a lifetime.
His wife, the love of his life for 47 years, Jacquelyn Q. Hedden died June 19, 2014. He leaves two daughters, Angela Hyland of Austintown, Wendy Orson of St. Louis, MO; one son, Richard (Melissa) Lutz of Charlestown, RI; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Richard also leaves his brother, Charles (Kathy) Lutz of Poland. Besides his parents and his wife, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Lutz, Jr and a sister, Susan J. Connelly. Friends may call from 3:30 p.m. Monday until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m.
