Roger Avery

Private services will be at a later date for Roger L. Avery, 77 of Canfield who died early Sunday morning at his residence. Roger was born April 10, 1934 in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Gerald and Christine Ellen Neilson Avery. Roger was a self-employed steel hauler, retiring in 1998. He was also a self-trained horologist and was a longtime member of NAWACC, where he leaves many friends. He leaves his wife, the former Carol Clark whom he married December 11, 1982; a daughter, Cindy (John) Augustine of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a son, Mark (Darla) Avery of Youngstown; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Duane (Marlene) Avery; Max (Naomi) Avery, both of Ridgway , two sister-in-laws, Janyne (Chet) Smith of Poland; Bobbi (Mark) Griffin of Youngstown; 4 nephews and 3 nieces. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.
