Roger R Morrison

YOUNGSTOWN- Roger R. Morrison, 79, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Hospice House in Poland. He was born on February 2, 1936 in Warren, OH, son to the late John F. and Mildred Maxine (Hiland) Morrison. Roger was a 1954 Newton Falls High School graduate. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army from '59-'61. During his service he was stationed 18 months in Alaska where he became a certified skiing instructor. After his service, Roger worked for 45 years at WCI, the former Republic Steel and LTV, before retiring in 2000. Roger enjoyed traveling and working on cars, but he especially loved playing with his grandchildren. Left to celebrate Roger's memory is his wife, Carol (Reynolds) Morrison; his son, Ronald (Joyce) Morrison; his daughter, Michelle (Michael) Edwards; his grandchildren, Jesse, Emily, Grace, and Faith Morrison, and Sarah Edwards; and his sister, Diane (Charles) Young. In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his sister, Doris Offerdahl, and his brother, John F. Morrison Jr. The family will receive friends from 5PM-8PM on Wednesday, February 3 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., where funeral services will take place at 10AM on Thursday, February 4.
