Roy Blain Strock

Roy Blain Strock, age 83, of Johnston Twp., Ohio, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at 6:35 AM, at his residence. He was born on July 12, 1923 in Southington, Ohio, the son of the late Ora I. Strock and the late Alta (West) Strock. Mr. Strock was employed by Copperweld Steel for 28 years where he had worked as a loader, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Southington Christian Church and the West Farmington Masonic Lodge. As a younger man, Roy enjoyed bowling and playing softball. In recent years, he enjoyed playing golf, spending time outdoors and working in his yard. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anna (Mullen) Strock, whom he married on January 10, 1948. A son, Jim Strock of Grafton, Ohio, and one brother, Ora Strock of Southington, Ohio. Also surviving are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Strock was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Harlan Strock. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours or funeral services for Mr. Strock. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, 164 North High Street, Cortland, Ohio
