Shirley A. Archer, 87 of Howland Township passed away Wednesday at 10:45PM at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Born in Racine, Ohio on December 16, 1922, Shirley is the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Hall) Latham. A lifetime area resident, Shirley is a Howland High School graduate and was a member of Howland Community Church. She worked many years at General Electric in Warren before getting her real estate license. She continued to be a real estate agent until her retirement in the early 1980s. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and attending family functions with her husband Butch. She married her husband, Carroll "Butch" Archer on April 21, 1944. Together they shared 62 years of marriage until his passing on March 24, 2006. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Helen Gillam of Howland Township, her nieces and nephews; Sue (Tim) Murray, Rebecca (Tracy) Vandegrift, Danny Archer, Donna Lee, and Bonnie Meszaros; great nieces; Ashley Denovchek, and Katherine and Haley Vandegrift. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Butch, a sister Lavada, and two brothers, Thomas and Jimmy. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Saturday at Howland Community Church. The family will receive friends for one half hour before the services. Rev. Dr. Brian Byrne will officiate. Interment will be at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna Township. Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
