Susan “Sue” M. Wildman, 85, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 30, 2024 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Warren.
Sue was born on October 28, 1938 at home in Bristolville, OH, a daughter of the late Mearlin and M. Ecel SutliffShe was a 1956 graduate of Bristol High School. After graduation she worked at the Warren Public Library for four years, before starting her family. On September 9, 1960 she married her sweetheart, Francis “Gene” Wildman Jr. She successfully sold Avon and was affectionately known as “The Avon Lady” for 56 years.
She was a faithful and active member of North Bristol Christian Church where she served over the years as a Sunday School Teacher, Historian, Deaconess, Clerk, and Member of CWF. She enjoyed bowling in several leagues for 50 years, was actively involved in four card clubs, Bristol 300 Club, Bristol Historical Society, and Sager Cemetery Association.
Sue will be deeply missed by her daughters, Gena (Bill) Robertson and Rhoda (Jim Jr.) Starkey; grandchildren, Corey (Holly) Robertson and Kylie Robertson; great-grandchild, Brooklyn Robertson; brother, Fred Sutliff; sisters, Sally West, Kate Heidelberg, Diane Gill, Sharon (Harry) Speith, and June Wingfield; sister-in-law, Nioma Wildman; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her Beloved Husband Francis “Gene” Wildman, who passed away on March 5, 2017; son, Francis E. Wildman III; daughter JoEllen Wildman; and siblings, Rose Heintz, Doris Knepper, Becky Lupco, Frank Sutliff, Martha Everitt, Pat Sutliff, Bonnie Culp, and David Sutliff; and many brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law.
Family and friends may visit from 5-7:00PM on Monday February 5, 2024 at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel located at 164 North High St. in Cortland and from 10-11:00 on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at North Bristol Christian Church located at 1955 Hyde Oakfield Rd NW in Bristolville.
Funeral services will follow Tuesday’s calling hours at 11:00AM
Burial will take place at Sager Memorial Cemetery.
