Thelma L. Britton

Niles- Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday December 29, at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Thelma Britton who died Wednesday morning December 24, in St. Joseph Hospital. Thelma was born Nov. 30, 1926 in Niles the daughter of John and Clara (Purser) Daugherty. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Niles, Rebecca Circle from the church, Meander Mothers of CCL, former member of the Red Hats Group and Meander Garden Club. Thelma graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1944. Thelma is survived by daughters; Leah (Leonard) Ramsey of Holly Hill, FL., Nancy (Alan) Penney of Gibsonia, PA, Cheryle (Jan) Mescall of Richmond, VA., seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers; Herb (Ginny) Daugherty of Warren and Jim (Delores) Daugherty of Washington State. She was preceded in death by her husband Nelson "Bud" Britton whom she married Oct. 19, 1946 and who died June 21, 1986, daughter Lori Britton who died in 1982 and 10 brothers and sisters. Family and friends may call from 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church of Niles.
