There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Monday at St. James Catholic Church in North Jackson for Thomas J. Stofac, of Austintown, who passed away Thursday evening in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born Sept 1, 1925 in Niles, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Pavlich) Stofac. He was a supervisor for 30 years for Ohio Bell and had served in the United States Navy Seabees during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in North Jackson and it’s Men’s Club. He was also a member of the Austintown Optimist Club where he had been President, Vice President and Lieutenant Governor, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Thomas’ wife, the former Marian Naples, whom he married June 21, 1947, passed away May 23, 2002. He is survived by three children: Joann (William) Sulenski of Austintown, Valerie (Keith Ritchey) Stofac of Ventura, CA, Thomas J. (Leslie) Stofac, Jr., of Columbus; four grandchildren: Dana (Bobby) Menendez, Matthew (Leslie) Sulenski, Sarah Jane Stofac, and Bethany Stofac; three great grandchildren: Maya, Danielle, and Nicholas, a sister in law Jayne Angelo of Campbell and a special companion Mildred Keck. Friends may call from 3 PM until 6 PM Sunday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Closing prayer will be recited at 10 AM Monday at the funeral home prior to procession to church.
