Thomas S. Liptak of Weathersfield Township, passed away Saturday, June 16th, 2007 at the Cleveland Clinic. Thomas was born July 15th, 1937 at home in Campbell, Ohio, son of the late Stephen L. and Elizabeth D. (Rivalsky) Liptak of Struthers. A graduate of Struthers High School, he also attended Kent State University. Thomas, an electrician, retired in 2006 from RMI Titanium Company after 39 years of service. Thom was an avid reader. He enjoyed traveling, flea markets, photographing and observing wildlife, and he took great pleasure in feeding God’s creatures. He was a lover of history and music. He was past president of both the RMI golf league and RMI Credit Union. He also was an active member of USWA local 2155. Presently, he belonged to RMI Retirees and Associates. Thomas was the beloved husband of 48 years to JoAnne (Gonnella); a loving, supportive father of four children: son, Troy (Nina) of Warren; daughter, Tomi (Domenic) Cardinale of Braceville; daughter, Tracy Liptak-Cantelmo of McDonald; son, Tristan (Nicole) of Weathersfield. Thomas was lovingly known as Grumpy to his grandchildren: Mark, Troy, Stefan, Theodore, Gabriella Rae, Carly Rae, and Suzannah Lee. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Elizabeth, brothers, Lawrence and Stephen, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren and also Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30AM at St. James Catholic Church in Warren. Officiating will be Rev. James Walker. Entombment will be held in the Niles City Cemetery, Niles, Ohio.
