A private memorial service will be held on Saturday at the Lane funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Tony Hernandez of Youngstown who passed away on Wednesday morning at his home. Tony was born March 22, 1926 in Warren the son of Manuel and Genoveva (Rios) Hernandez. A WWII Army Veteran, Tony worked at Packard Electric and was a member of St. Brendans church in Youngstown. He was an avid golfer, gardener, and was a member of the Catholic War Veteran’s Post # 1292 in Youngstown. Besides his wife, the former Elvira Herrera whom he married November 10, 1950, Tony leaves a son Joseph (Diane) Hernandez of France and a daughter Linda Roth of Youngstown. He also leaves four grandchildren: Consuelo (Robert) Cutlip, Lisa (Ray) Sierra, Antonio (Jacqueline Young) Roth, and Stephanie (Francisco) Garcia as well as five great-grandchildren: Haley Cutlip, Bianca Garcia, Jared Sierra, Sebastian Garcia, and Isabella Cutlip. Tony also leaves four brothers: Alexander, John, Ricardo and Salvadore Hernandez and a sister Mary Louise Wilson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and a great nephew Tyller Guzman. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Joseph, Manuel, and Robert Hernandez.
