Van Blevins, age 44, of Mineral Ridge, died at his home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. A 1991 graduate of Chaney High School, he was a life-long resident of the Youngstown area. He was well known for his mechanical abilities, having worked at General Extrusions, Palko's Automotive, in addition to owning and operating Van's Auto Body, and most recently at LB Foster where he performed the duties of: Maintenance Lead, Lead CNC Mill operator and trainer, Production Lead/worker, and Shop Coordinator. He was known for his generous nature and love of living a full life. He leaves two children, Haylie Marie and Van Joseph; parents, James and Frances; a twin brother, Dean; a sister, Beverly Gatta; 5 nephews: Johnathan Balogh, Rocco Gatta, Jakob Magda, Dylan DuPonty, Elijah DuPonty; 5 nieces: Nicole Balogh, Gina Magda, Jocelyn, Jessica and Selena DuPonty; 1 great nephew: John Balogh; 2 great nieces: Kaylee and Mia Balogh; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by many who loved him dearly and were always supportive in life, including Cynthia Blevins and the entire DuPonty family. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 11:00 am at the Lane Funeral Home, 1350 N. Niles-Canfield Rd., Mineral Ridge, OH 44440; where friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
