Warren G. Burnside

Warren G. Burnside, 83, formerly of Ridge Rd. SE in Howland, died at 7:35 AM Tuesday Dec.25, 2007 at Windsor House of Champion. He was born June 20, 1924 in Niles the son of John D. and Edna (Hackett) Burnside. A lifetime area resident, Warren was an assembler for Packard Electric retiring in 1992. He served in the US Army during WW II as a medic with the 2nd Portable Surgical Hospital and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater ribbon with 2 bronze stars, the Philippine Liberation Theater ribbon with 1 bronze star, Good Conduct medal, WW II Victory medal and a Bronze Arrowhead before being discharged in 1946 as a Tec 4. Warren was a professional hypnotist and had taught classes at the KSU Trumbull campus in hypnotism. He was a member and past president of the Mahoning Valley Wood Carving Club. He also was a member of the WRIPCA computer club and was an accomplished artist using oil paint and pastels. Survivors include 3 sons, Timothy (Sharon) Burnside of Bazetta, David Burnside of Howland, John (Robin) Burnside of Southington, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons, and his dear friend Dorothy Ingram of Brookfield. Pastor Mark L. Rasey will conduct a memorial service 11:00 AM Saturday Dec.29, 2007 at Roberts-Clark Chapel. Interment will be in Niles City Cemetery.
