William H. Grove, 91, of Cortland, passed away Thursday March 28, 2013 at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Bill was born January 10, 1922 in Mecca, OH, one of eight children of the late William R. and Cora (Copper) Grove. Bill was a 1940 graduate of the Mecca High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in both WWII and the Korean War. He was employed by the Van Huffel Tube Corp. of Warren, OH. He also was a faithful member of the West Mecca Methodist Church, the IOOF, Johnston Post of the VFW. He was an avid gardener, bowler and sports fan. Bill is survived by his three sons; Larry (Diane) Grove of Southington, David B. Grove of Warren and Phillip (Amy) Grove of Natrona Heights, PA ; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andy, Benjamin, Daniel; three sisters, Violet Childs of Chagrin Falls, Berle Frances of Mecca and Darlene Kubuj of Cortland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae (Williams), who he married in Vienna, OH in 1950, four sisters and one brother. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-3 PM at the Lane Family, Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. Warren, OH 44483, where the funeral service will follow at 3 PM. Interment will be in the West Mecca Cemetery in Mecca.
