Billy Wesley Williams, 85, of Poland, passed away October 6, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown.
Billy was born July 3, 1928 in Youngstown, son of Cyril John and Myrtle Viola (Foley) Williams.
He attended South High School, before enlisting in the US Navy. He met Betty Lou Spencer while working together at General Electric, and soon married while he was on leave from the Navy on April 9, 1947. She preceded him in death in March of this year.
Billy worked on the railroad, McKay Machine, was employed with Packard Electric and eventually retired from General Motors as an electrician, a trade he learned in the Navy. Billy lived life large. He and Betty enjoyed boating, riding snow mobiles and motorcycles with his many friends and loved ones. He traveled all over the United States and to Costa Rica. Early in life, he lived in Florida, and continued to be a snowbird in his later life. He always seemed most happy in his garage working creatively on anything that needed fixed or improved.
He is survived by one son, Robert Spencer Williams; one daughter, Linda (Robert) Simerlink; four grandchildren, Christopher Williams, Whitney Resch, Abby (Jason) Farris and Alexis Williams; one sister, Jerry Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty Lou Williams, and a brother, Earl Williams.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
Memorials may be made in his name to the charity of one's choice.
