Janet L Simon, 95 of Warren, died Thursday evening, January 8, 2015, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born December 31, 1919 in Warren the daughter of the late Frank and Angela Oliveri Laprocina. She had been a lifetime Warren area resident.

Janet was a 1937 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She retired in 1986 from HCA Hospital Corp. of America in LeHigh Acres, Fla., where she was secretary to the Director of Nursing.

Janet was a member of St. John Paul II Church (St. Joseph parish) in Warren and the Ladies Guild there. She had also been a member of St. Raphael Church in LeHigh, Fla., a member of the LeHigh Senior Center and the Patchwork Quilting circle there, a member of the Friends Of the Warren Library and a member of the Ohio Star Quilters at Howland SCOPE. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed crocheting and reading. She and her husband, Alexander enjoyed wintering in Florida from 1979 to 2003.

Surviving are one daughter, Margaret (John) Kearney of Lake Ozark, Missouri; three sons, William Simon of Cape Coral, Fla., Al (Rhonda) Simon of Cortland and David J. Simon of Niles; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Her husband of 66 years, Alexander W. Simon, whom she married June 10, 1939, preceded her in death in 2005. Three sisters, Celeste Scoville, Nellie Carbone and Mildred Ciarrochi and five brothers, Gabe, Nick, Tony, Larry and Frank Laprocina also have preceded her in death.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Paul II Parish, 420 North Street NW in Warren, with Rev. Christopher Henyk celebrating the Mass. The family will receive friends from 1to 3 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
