John C. Bohecker, 89, of Youngstown passed away Friday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Medical Center Main Campus. John was born August 24, 1920 in Youngstown, the son of George William Sr. and Florence (Thornton) Bohecker. He retired as a crane operator with Republic Steel after more than 35 years of service. Jack was an Army veteran serving during WWII serving from 1942 until 1945, in the battle of Normandy; Northern France; Rhineland; Central Europe; and Ardennes. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon w/ 5 Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Ribbon for his services during the war. Jack leaves his wife of more than 61 years, the former Ann Marie Orlando, whom he married May 25, 1948. Jack also leaves one sister; Mary Ethel Dickens of Canfield, as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jack is preceded in death by a sister; Jeanette Whitman, and two brothers; William and George Jr. Bohecker. There were no calling hours.
